These works of art were made when I had a one-week taster internship at two architectural firms, Architecten firms OTH and LEVS. The first assignment was to come up with a visual artwork for the Kröller Müller museum. My idea was to choose a large tree in the middle of an open field and cut a corner into which the mouth would fit. My idea behind this was to make a mouth of gold with a silver ax between the teeth and drops of golden blood dripping from the mouth. All this must be about the idea that a tree has feeling and can suffer pain hence the blood. Gold and silver are also about the fact that gold is stronger and more valuable than silver and is therefore higher. I call this work teeth of gold.
The marquette
The assignment for the marquette was to furnish and design an existing house that had just been purchased by the owner of the architectural firm OTH. So I received the purchase photos, the floor plan and construction drawings to see which walls could be removed and which could not. From this I made this model. The owner thought the work was very good and would have chosen this version if it would not be delivered that same week.
